Who we are

The Slovenian Society for Systems Research is a voluntary, professional and non-profit association of researchers, experts, practitioners and individuals united by an interest in systems and cybernetic thinking and the understanding of complex phenomena and processes.

Areas of operation

The society brings together researchers in systems theory, cybernetics and approaches derived from them, such as theories of innovation , organizational development, business cybernetics and other related scientific and practical disciplines . In addition to researchers, we also include individuals and practitioners who use systems thinking in their operations, decision-making and everyday practice.

Mission

Our fundamental mission is to promote and advance research and application of the theory and practice of systems and cybernetic thinking , acting, and behavior (TS&B). We proceed from the belief that the essence of a systems approach is integrity and in-depth consideration of complex and highly complex phenomena that cannot be understood through individual isolated parts, but through their interconnections and dynamics.

Embracing complexity

We place special emphasis on creative collaboration, especially interdisciplinary networking, as we believe that only by combining different knowledge and perspectives can we develop quality research and effective solutions to the complex challenges of the modern world . In this way , we also promote the transfer of knowledge between the research environment, practice, and the wider society.

Interdisciplinarity

The Society strives to create a space where ideas, experiences and knowledge intertwine and where new syntheses of systemic understanding emerge. Through our work , we aim to contribute to the development of science, strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation and better understanding and management of complex systems in nature, society and the economy.

Our vision

SDSR aims to become a globally recognized center of excellence that will foster transformative progress in the field of systems research and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration. By cultivating a dynamic ecosystem that thrives on innovation and knowledge exchange, the association aims to place Slovenia at the forefront of cutting-edge research in the fields of complex systems, network analysis and optimization.

Povezovanje

Cilj društva je povezati raziskovalce, strokovnjake in organizacije, ki se ukvarjajo z raziskovanjem sistemov, z organizacijo
konferenc, seminarjev, delavnic in spletnih platform. S tem spodbuja mreženje, izmenjavo informacij in oblikovanje
interdisciplinarnih skupin.

Omogočanje

Za premagovanje omejitev virov in vrzeli v znanju in spretnostih društvo zagotavlja različne mehanizme omogočanja.
Ponuja raziskovalne štipendije, dostop do znanstvene in strokovne literature s področij sistemov, specializiranih orodij in
programe usposabljanja za krepitev moči raziskovalcev. S tem članom zagotavlja potrebna sredstva za izvajanje
visokokakovostnih sistemskih raziskav.

Učinek

Končni cilj je s sistemskimi raziskavami doseči dejanski učinek. Društvo spodbuja skupne projekte, ki obravnavajo pereče
družbene izzive, osebne in družbene odgovornosti

Njegovo zgodnje akademsko in strokovno delo je bilo usmerjeno v načrtovanje in uvajanje sistemov poslovne inteligence, napovedne analitike in obvladovanja tveganj, zlasti v finančnih in turističnih okoljih. Njegovo raziskovalno delo se razvija v smeri sistemskega razmišljanja kibernetike, multimedijo, umetno in kolektivno inteligenco ter hibridno resničnost ter te poglede združuje v KiberSistemiko. Znotraj KiberSistemiko raziskuje, kako družbeno-tehnični sistemi delujejo v fizičnih in digitalnih okoljih, s posebnim poudarkom na etiki, upravljanju in družbeni odgovornosti.

Njegovo trenutno raziskovanje se osredotoča na interakcije kot primarno enoto analize ter razvija opazovanje interakcij kot primer KiberSistemske metodologije za analizo kompleksnih sistemov. To povezuje z učenjem, podprtim z umetno inteligenco, organizacijskim odločanjem in akademskim založništvom.

Je avtor in urednik številnih znanstvenih člankov, monografij, posebnih številk revij in uredniških znanstvenih zbornikov s področij sistemske znanosti, kibernetike, informacijskih sistemov in družbene odgovornosti.
